A couple of weeks ago I had a little fun creating some Halloween cards. I must confess, I just love Halloween and everything that goes with it. We love greeting the trick-or-treaters on our front porch and seeing their costumes. I don't particularly like ghoulish and macabre things, but cute Halloween witches are my favorite.
Here are some of the cards I made, using vintage photos and the scrapbook papers and embellishments that I showed you in my post of August 21st. I love these Lost and Found papers by My Mind's Eye, and the gorgeous orange glitter on them really makes them special.
Below are the cards, along with the insides, on which I also used left over pieces of the papers.
For my granddaughter...
For my Dad (one of the kids!)...
For my little grandson...
...and my older grandson...
I will add the sentiments later.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hello Sue, As you probably know Halloween is not really 'celebrated' very much in the Uk, (although I loved it when I lived in the States). So every year we buy treats usually things myDH love...Haribos, so he can eat them all up when we get no visitors. Last year we reached 10pm without a single knock on the door, then there it was...trick or treaters. There were four of them about 16 years old, no,costumes, just demanding treats. My DH gave them a a pack of Haribo's each and strarngly enough they grabbed them thanked us very much and fled. Thing is, I'd just glided down our hallway wearing my vampire dress, black and purple velvet and lace,, plus my full length black cape, lined with red silk. I don't know why they were scared, I often wear the outfit when I go out, (honestly) especially if I have to go to the Doc's or hospital to have my blood tested. By golly, it doesn't half make the nurses careful with their needles. Did I tell you I have a sick sense of humour. Must admit I'm an aging hippy/goth, but I wear what I want and if other people think it's strange then that's their problem lol Blessing
ReplyDeleteI love your sense of humor. I didn't know that you lived in the States. Which one? About when? Your costume sounds great and I love that you wear it for blood tests. I guess it would indeed make them careful! You must be in the same age group as me if you are talking "aging hippy". The younger set think that they have it all over us, but little do they know! Thanks so much for your lovely comment. You made my day, Lesley. XO
DeleteYour Halloween cards came out beautiful, Sue.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week.
Hugs,
Marie
Thanks! You have a wonderful week yourself! XO
Deletethese are so creative! I've never thought of Halloween cards before but I love what you've created. I especially love the one you did for your younger grandson though each is unique and very interesting.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diane! I tried to not make it too scary for the little one. Thanks for stopping by again.
