Birdsong Cottage: Living room and bedroom decor...

Hello friends! We are home now, but I wanted to show you a few more photos of our little getaway. Though this little single wide mobile home is not yet "decorated", we have gotten most of the basic furniture pieces in. Then, I promise you, this will be it for awhile since we will make one more trip up next month, then have it winterized and closed up until spring.

We had a first frost the other night, so I'm glad I took the time to get some tulip and daffodil bulbs in the ground before we left!

Though we still need to introduce some decorating accents, we are trying to keep a clean and fresh cottage look in this place. Since it is so small, light, bright, and uncluttered is the name of the game. We are trying to have some fun with it, and it is nothing like our "real" home, which is more of a traditional and farmhouse look.

In the living room, this is the table that I showed you recently when it was apple green, now painted in Annie Sloan French Linen on top and Old White on bottom. I also used the same paints on the lamp and shade, distressing the lamp with Annie' dark wax. The fabric shade and lamp were previously a metallic bronze color...

This past week I painted the frames to those old leaded glass windows purchased this summer, and Hubby hung them by screwing the frames into the wall studs. And the TV sits on the pretty dresser purchased previously. It provides a large amount of extra storage!

The new fan that matches the kitchen lighting...

Here is our bedroom dresser painted in Annie Sloan's French Linen. I sprayed the drawer pulls with Oil-Rubbed bronze by Rustoleum. I previously showed you a photo of this dresser, purchased on Craigslist, sitting in our garage in its original faux mahogany state. I am not much in favor of TVs on dressers, but given the small bedroom that this is, we had no choice...

I also painted this little old table, again with French Linen on top and Old White on the bottom. We use it as a charging station for phones and iPad...

This is the Cracker Barrel lamp that I showed you previously, sitting on a little already-finished night table that I recently bought in SuzAnna's in Raleigh...

When we go up later this month I will try to remember to shoot a photo of the living room couch, and hopefully a few shots of the guest bedroom, which we currently call "the garage" for obvious reasons. We are still working on the iron bed frames, bedding, and curtains, and these might not be completed until next season.

I hope that you have a wonderful day!

XO
Sue
