My kind of shopping, even in the fall...

Hello, friends! The other morning we went to our favorite garden center (you can read more about this great place here) to pick up some replacement shrubs for ones that met their demise this summer. At this time of the year, they are raising beautiful Poinsettias to sell for Christmas, not only to individuals, but to businesses and churches as well. I only had a few moments to snap these photos, but am sharing them below. I will go back again as we get closer to Christmas so that I can show you the variety of colors that they raise.

Though I'm not quite ready to play with Christmas yet, it's nice to see some of what lies ahead!

Have a great day.

  1. Most of the greenhouses around here close just before or just after Thanksgiving (October). But it's something to look forward to come spring!

  2. I can see why they might do that in the north! Ours stay opened till right around Christmas, take a break in January, and in February are opened again since that is a good time to plant trees and shrubs here. I am looking forward to a gardening break myself, though!
