Thank you for this post, Sue. I've been heartsick since the news broke. I'm from MA, and one of my sisters lives in Boston. I experienced a few anxious moments until another sister called to tell me that the Boston one was fine, not having returned yet from a long weekend out of state.
But it really doesn't matter in these all-too-familiar attacks whether or not we knew someone who might have been impacted; the loss of innocent lives in such brutal, deliberate ways affects all of us to the core--and we will never understand nor "get used to" it.
Hi Pat! My husband is also from the Boston area of MA and much of his family still lives there. Actually, his nephew ran in that marathon yesterday, with his sister and her children waiting at the finish line, but they were all OK. I felt so overwhelmed last night that words just wouldn't come for this blog. Almost like 9/11 all over again. Hope you're having a great evening! XO
I found out via Facebook last night. In December, I stopped following a news page because of the Sandy Hook massacre. I worked in education for ten years and can see how it could happen so easily in all of our schools. It breaks my heart to see our country so unsafe and innocent people killed because of it. Prayers and sorrow today.
Hi Nancy. I hope you are well. I know what you mean...I look around every day and sometimes find myself thinking about where and when another strike will be. The schools do worry me a lot. Thanks for your comment! XO
Hello! My name is Sue, and I am a wife, mother and grandmother with a love of all things vintage. I enjoy trying to put creative touches on all that I do.
You can reach me at: phoebesperch@aol.com.
Go ahead and pin anything that you like! I am also flattered to think that you might like something well enough to use it for something other than Pinterest. If you do, I would appreciate a comment. Most of the vintage items that I offer as "freebies" are very old and I am sure beyond any copyright restrictions. If I use anything that is not old, and it is not mine, I credit it accordingly, and you should do the same. Thank you.
