A little while ago I went outside to visit my husband for a few minutes while he was spraying some nasty weeds that have been taking over sections of our lawn, and noticed that a clump of Bearded Iris by our garden shed was in full bloom. Of course I couldn't resist snapping a couple of pictures. I'm not sure what they are, possibly "Immortality", but I am not really sure as I don't even remember where I received this start from a few years ago. All I know is that they are the first to bloom, and simply BEAUTIFUL!!
I think that the inside of the blooms are just exquisite,
and they have the prettiest scent to them...
It does my heart good to see so much beauty in nature, even when the weather is still not great! I'm trying to think of a way that I can incorporate photos of some of my flowers into collage pieces using vintage photos of children. What do you think?
what a gorgeous iris! I am anxiously waiting for the tulips, daffs, and purple iris (a neighbor gave us some) that I planted last fall to come up.
ReplyDeleteRainy and cold here this morning - and we had cement work done so the entry is quite a mess. The flowers will detract from it!
I love them all, no matter what the color. Each year they get better. I know what you mean about cement work. It is messy. But this too shall pass. Hope you're having a great day! XO
DeleteWhat a beautiful iris, indeed! I love that the blooms took you by surprise!
ReplyDeleteI certainly don't see why you couldn't use your flower pics with vintage photos of children. Proportion would be key, though... I would suggest having the flowers accent the children, rather than the other way around.
xoxo
I know what you mean about the proportion. I tried a few things for a few minutes the other day, and they looked goofy. Will play with them when I have more time. Trying to complete some other things that I previously started before I move on.
