A great class being offered, and "A Simple Porch" vingage fabric collage...

Hello friends!

First, I wanted to share with you the opportunity for a free on-line class that Sandy at Quill Cottage is offering beginning today via her blog which is here. Her blog in itself is wonderful, and she is a remarkable artist. The class is to create a romantic crazy quilt cuff, and I am looking forward to it because I hope to gain some insight on how to complete some crazy quilt pieces that I have assembled, but have not yet done the stitching on.

There is a link on her sidebar which will take you to the class, being offered in a blog format. She has already posted the materials you will need for this class. It will continue over the next three Fridays. Take a look if you have a minute. I am excited about it since I have admired Sandy's creations for a long time. Thanks, Sandy!!

Second, I am still working at completing my unfinished projects. Here is another "porch" fabric collage that I finished.

There is something that made me want to use these
colors on this piece...I'm not sure what.
Not to mention polka dots.
Sometimes I just like to do something
different!

I love this old photo, but it is very old and
came out kind of light when I printed it out
on the ink jet photo fabric...

I hope that your weather is better than ours. It has been gray and misty for most of this week, and doesn't seem to get much above 60 outside. I have spent no time in the garden, and we certainly haven't been sitting out on OUR porch!

Have a great day.

  1. One thing I miss about this house...no porch. The house I lived in while a child had a porch and I used it a lot -- for playing on, for sitting on to watch the world go by (in our small neighbourhood!) and to read. If there is a "next house" for me -- it will very definitely have a porch! xo

    1. There is something to be said about old porches, even if they are only in our dreams. I don't think that we should have stopped building them for all those years. I guess most would just not like to deal with the passing crowd. Our neighborhood is a front porch kind of place...people riding bikes with their kids, and walking dogs. Most will stop and chat. We use our front porch more than the screened porch out back. At least when the weather is nice, which it doesn't want to be this spring. Have a great weekend! XO
